IT Audit IT Audit aim to determine whether the information systems are safeguarding assets, maintaining data integrity, and operating effectively to achieve the organization's goals or objectives. IT audits may be conducted in different forms of attestation engagement: 1. IT audit in conjunction with financial statement audit Reviews the correctness of keeping data by way of IT products used for financial management and accounting and provides recommendations on process optimization and improvement. Do accounting transactions in IT-systems fully reflect all business transactions? Does the current software allow covering and processing all business transactions? Do IT-systems comply with current statutory requirements? Are IT-systems in line with corporate policy? Are transactions efficiently recorded in the system? What are the risks that some data may be lost/modified during the input process (e.g. manual input or transfer of data between systems). 2. Audit of IT business process Reviews the correctness of IT business process, tools and methods used for the implementation of such process. Bottle necks and weak points are identified and recommendations on improvement are provided. 3. IT security audit Reviews the adequateness of the level of security for IT systems in a client's organization. Security breaches are identified through deep analysis and security attack simulations. Recommendations on optimization and improvement of the level of security systems are provided.
